New Delhi: US Vice President JD Vance has reportedly contacted Iran’s security chief, Mohsen Rezaei, in a fresh diplomatic effort to restart peace negotiations and prevent another round of American military strikes against Tehran.

According to the reports, Vance sent the letter at the direction of President Donald Trump. The communication, followed by exchanges between American and Iranian officials, reportedly focused on creating a framework for renewed negotiations rather than outlining the terms of a final peace agreement.

The diplomatic outreach comes amid heightened regional tensions and uncertainty over the future of the conflict.

Iranian military officials have warned that any renewed American attack could prompt wider retaliation, potentially targeting US-linked infrastructure, including data centres and artificial intelligence facilities.

Iran Signals Willingness to Pursue Diplomacy

Tehran is continuing discussions with regional intermediaries to bring the US-Iran negotiations back on track and resume normal maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
