LeT Co-Founder Amir Hamza critically injured
Ishlamabad: Amir Hamza, a founding member of the Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was shot by unidentified gunmen in Lahore and is reported to be in critical condition.
The incident reportedly occurred outside a television news channel office, where armed assailants opened fire on Hamza before escaping the scene. He was later rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
Who Is Amir Hamza?
Amir Hamza is widely known as one of the early figures behind the formation of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, which he co-founded alongside Hafiz Saeed in the mid-1980s.
He has been associated with the group’s ideological and operational activities over the years, including roles linked to recruitment, fundraising, and propaganda efforts.
Hamza also served as the founding editor of LeT’s publication Majallah al-Daawa and authored the book Qafila Da’wat aur Shahadat in 2002.

The United States has designated Lashkar-e-Taiba as a terrorist organization and has sanctioned several of its senior members, including Hamza.
