‘Land of Lions’: PM Modi Addresses Ethiopian Parliament
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi addressed the Ethiopian Parliament, where he received a 90-second standing ovation from Members of Parliament following his speech.
Calling it a great honour to address the House, PM Modi said it felt special to be in Ethiopia, famously known as the “land of lions.” Drawing a cultural connection, he added that his home state Gujarat in India is also home to lions, making him feel at home in Ethiopia.

The prolonged applause in Parliament was seen as a reflection of the deep-rooted friendship and cultural bonds between India and Ethiopia. The gesture underscored Ethiopia’s respect for India’s leadership and the strengthening diplomatic relationship between the two nations.
PM Modi Departs for Oman After Ethiopia Visit
After concluding his Ethiopia visit, PM Modi departed for Oman, the final leg of his three-country tour. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed personally accompanied him to the airport and bid him farewell before boarding.
