New Delhi: Union Minister of State Jitin Prasada delivered India’s national statement at the high-level United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting in New York on the WSIS+20 review, which assessed global progress in implementing the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).

During his address, Prasada highlighted India’s commitment to building an inclusive, people-centric, and development-oriented digital ecosystem. He outlined India’s achievements in leveraging digital technologies to promote connectivity, governance, and socio-economic development.

The WSIS+20 review marks 20 years since the World Summit on the Information Society, providing a platform for member states to evaluate progress, share best practices, and shape the future of global digital cooperation.

Prasada also emphasized India’s focus on bridging the digital divide, expanding broadband access, and ensuring that digital transformation benefits all sections of society, particularly in developing nations.

The high-level meeting witnessed participation from ministers, senior officials, and representatives of international organizations, underscoring the growing importance of digital cooperation in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
