Several people died and dozens were injured in a series of blasts near a hospital and two markets in Maiduguri, the capital of Nigeria’s Borno state. Officials suspect that it could be a suicide attack.

New Delhi: Several explosions created chaos in Maiduguri, a city in Borno State, on Monday night. According to the information, bomb blasts took place at at least three places, in which many people died and dozens were injured. Local emergency services said these could be possible suicide attacks, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Sirajo Abdullahi, who is the head of operations at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), said that the injured have been admitted to the hospital and the exact figures are still being collected.
Till now no terrorist organization has taken responsibility for these blasts. However, security agencies suspect that radical terrorist groups may be behind this.
This area has been a stronghold of Boko Haram. This area has been affected by terrorism for a long time. Especially Boko Haram has been carrying out violent activities here for the last several years.
Although major attacks in Maiduguri had reduced in recent years following a military crackdown, the latest blasts have again raised concerns about security.
Babagana Umara Zulum has strongly condemned this attack. He said that this incident is inhuman and barbaric. He appealed to the people to maintain peace and immediately report any suspicious activity to security agencies.
