Muscat: Today is the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Oman. During this visit, a comprehensive economic partnership agreement between India and Oman is expected to be signed. Prime Minister Modi said that this agreement will give new confidence, energy, and direction to the partnership between the two countries in the 21st century. He described it as a significant step for bilateral relations.

Addressing the Indian community in Muscat, the capital of Oman, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the cultural characteristics of Indians. He said, “We Indians respect diversity. India's diversity is the greatest strength of our culture. Every season, every festival, and every tradition adds new colors to our lives.” He said that wherever Indians go, they seamlessly integrate with the local culture and customs.

Diwali Receives Global Recognition

The Prime Minister also mentioned the inclusion of Diwali in UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. He said, “Now the Diwali lamp will illuminate not only our homes but the entire world.” He described it as a moment of pride for Indians living around the world and said that this recognition spreads the message of hope, harmony, and humanity globally.

Mention of the India-Oman Friendship Festival

PM Modi lauded the India-Oman ‘Friendship Festival,’ saying that it symbolizes the shared heritage and bright future of both countries. Explaining the meaning of the word ‘MAITRI,’ he linked it to Maritime Heritage, Aspiration, Innovation, Trust & Technology, Respect, and Inclusive Growth. The Prime Minister said that this festival reflects the deep trust and friendship between the two nations.

Emphasis on India's Economic and Technological Progress

Referring to India's rapid economic growth rate, Prime Minister Modi said that India is among the fastest-growing economies in the world. He highlighted the progress in the field of education, mentioning that nearly 46,000 students are studying in Indian schools in Oman. He also mentioned the increase in the number of IITs, IIMs, and AIIMS institutions.

Achievements in Space Missions

Discussing India's space achievements, the Prime Minister said that India is the first country to reach the lunar south pole. He said that in the future, India will also have its own space station. The Prime Minister described these achievements as proof of India's scientific and technological capabilities.
