Washington: The Donald Trump administration has temporarily paused immigrant visa application processing at US embassies and consulates across the world as part of a major immigration crackdown aimed at increasing scrutiny of applicants.
The US State Department has introduced new guidance and additional training for consular officers to ensure a stricter evaluation process, especially for applicants who officials believe could become dependent on US government benefits.
