The Prime Minister also expressed his intention to continue close coordination with France to promote peace and stability, both in West Asia and beyond.

Macron Flags Energy Risks

The discussion comes amid growing concerns over the impact of the conflict on global energy infrastructure. President Macron, speaking separately at European Union talks in Brussels, warned against further escalation following reported strikes on energy sites in the Gulf.

He cautioned that damage to critical energy production facilities could have long-term consequences for global markets and economic stability.

Call for Direct Engagement

Macron also called for direct talks between the United States and Iran to address the crisis. He stressed that diplomatic engagement between key stakeholders is essential to prevent further escalation and manage the situation effectively.

Diverging Reactions

Iran, however, criticised Macron’s position, accusing him of not addressing actions by Israel and the United States while focusing on Iran’s response. The differing reactions highlight the complex diplomatic landscape surrounding the conflict.

Growing Global Concern

The exchange between the Indian and French leaders reflects increasing international concern over the situation in West Asia. With tensions continuing to rise and key energy routes and infrastructure at risk, global powers are urging restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts.
