Fire at Kuwait oil facility after drone attack
Kuwait: Tensions in West Asia have intensified following a drone attack on a key oil refinery in Kuwait, raising concerns over regional stability and global energy security. The incident comes amid escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel, with the United States issuing strong warnings.
A drone strike targeted the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery in Kuwait, one of the country’s largest and most strategically important oil facilities. The attack triggered a major fire, causing damage to parts of the refinery.

Initial reports indicated no immediate confirmation of casualties, but the incident has heightened fears of disruptions to global oil supply chains. The refinery plays a critical role in Kuwait’s energy exports and regional fuel distribution.
The attack comes against the backdrop of intensifying conflict between Iran and Israel. Earlier, Israel reportedly carried out a strike on Iran’s South Pars gas field, one of the world’s largest natural gas reserves.
In response, Iran is reported to have launched a missile attack targeting a major liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Qatar. The development is seen as a significant escalation, given Qatar’s central role in global gas supplies.
The United States has reacted sharply to the developments, warning Iran against further escalation. Former US President Donald Trump also issued a statement, increasing pressure on Tehran.
He indicated that Israel would not carry out further strikes on Iran’s South Pars field but warned that any repeat attack by Iran on Qatar could trigger a strong US response. Trump also reiterated calls for Iran to agree to unconditional terms, signalling a hardline stance.
