US Orders Citizens to Leave Middle East Amid Rising Tensions
Washington DC: The US and Israel's attacks on Iran, followed by Iran's subsequent retaliatory actions, have escalated the situation across West Asia. In response to the growing threat, the US has ordered its citizens living in more than 12 Middle Eastern countries to immediately evacuate. The US government has described this as a necessary security measure.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a video message urging citizens to evacuate immediately. He stated that the security situation in the region is extremely serious and saving civilian lives is the government's top priority. The government has also released helpline numbers so that those in need can receive immediate assistance.
This advisory has been issued for countries such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Lebanon, Iran, Oman, Iraq, Qatar, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
Meanwhile, United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that six US soldiers have been killed so far in the ongoing conflict. Recently, the bodies of two soldiers were recovered from the site where Iran launched the initial strikes. However, the identities of the deceased soldiers have not been released. Large-scale military operations are still ongoing in the region.
The conflict began on February 28, when the US and Israel jointly launched missile strikes on several Iranian cities. These strikes targeted Iranian military command centers, missile bases, and government buildings. Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and four senior military officials are reported to have been killed in this attack.
In response to the attacks, Iran attacked US bases in Israel and West Asia with ballistic missiles and drones. This poses a serious threat to civilian safety. US President Donald Trump has made it clear that the military campaign against Iran will continue. He stated that the US is committed to eliminating Iran's missile capability and nuclear ambitions.
