New Delhi: Amid rising global oil prices and economic uncertainty, officials from the United States said the ongoing conflict involving Iran and Israel could end within the next few weeks, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Speaking on television interviews, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said the war is likely to conclude relatively soon. According to him, once the conflict ends, oil supplies could recover and global energy prices may fall again.

Oil Prices Climb Near $100

The war has already caused serious disruptions in global energy markets. Crude oil prices have climbed close to $100 per barrel, creating fears of a wider economic impact.

A major reason for the surge is the disruption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy corridors that carries about one-fifth of global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies.

Trump Threatens More Strikes

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump warned that American forces could launch more strikes on Iran’s main oil export hub, Kharg Island.

Trump claimed recent US attacks had already “totally demolished” large parts of the facility and suggested further strikes could follow if tensions escalate.

Iran Rejects Negotiation Claims

However, Iran strongly rejected claims that it is seeking negotiations. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran had not asked for a ceasefire or talks with Washington.

“We are ready to defend ourselves for as long as it takes,” Araghchi said, adding that Iran remains “stable and strong” despite the attacks.

Global Shipping and Energy Supply Hit

The war, now entering its third week, has heavily disrupted global shipping and aviation routes. The near-closure of the Strait of Hormuz has slowed oil and gas transportation and shaken international energy markets.

To stabilise supply, the International Energy Agency announced that over 411 million barrels of oil from emergency reserves could be released into global markets.

International Efforts to Secure Shipping

Several countries are now considering military cooperation to secure the vital waterway. European nations, including France and United Kingdom, are discussing naval missions to protect shipping lanes in the region.

Despite these efforts, tensions remain high as missile and drone attacks continue between the rival sides.
