New Delhi: Tragic news is emerging from Kathmandu, Nepal, where two Indian mountaineers have died while descending after successfully summiting the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. According to a report by the news agency, this information was provided by an official.

The Indian mountaineers have been identified as Arun Kumar Tiwari and Sandeep Are. Exhaustion is being cited as the cause of death.

Lives Could Not Be Saved Despite All Efforts

Rishi Bhandari, General Secretary of Nepal's Expedition Operators Association, stated that the Indian mountaineers, Arun Kumar Tiwari and Sandeep Are, became severely exhausted while descending from the summit; despite all efforts by their guides, they could not be saved.

When Did the Deaths Occur?

Bhandari told PTI that it appears Are summited the peak on Wednesday, and Tiwari did so on Thursday around 5:30 PM. He added that the guides worked extremely hard, but they were unable to save them. Sandeep Are passed away on Thursday, though it remains unclear exactly when Arun Kumar Tiwari died.

It is worth noting that on Wednesday, three Indian mountaineers—including Sandeep and Arun—were part of a group of 274 climbers who successfully summited the 8,848.86-meter-high peak. This set a new record for the highest number of successful ascents to the summit in a single day.

The other two mountaineers were Tulasi Reddy Palpunuri and Ajay Pal Singh Dhaliwal. The following day, Thursday, India's Lakshmikanta Mondal also reached the summit of the world's highest peak.
