Chandrapur: A 19-year-old student from Maharashtra's Chandrapur district died by suicide on the day he was scheduled to leave for admission to a medical college. The descesed, Anurag Anil Borkar, reportedly left a suicide note in which he expressed that he did not want to pursue a career in medicine. Anurag, a resident of Nawargaon in Sindewahi taluka, had recently cleared the NEET UG 2025 examination with an exceptional 99.99 percentile, securing an All India Rank of 1475 in the OBC category. Following his success, his family had been preparing for his journey to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, to begin his MBBS course. A suicide note was recovered at the scene. While authorities have not disclosed the note’s contents publicly, police sources confirmed that Anurag had expressed his unwillingness to become a doctor.
