Amravati: A 19-year-old man has been arrested in Maharashtra’s Amravati district for allegedly exploiting at least 180 minor girls and filming over 350 obscene videos. The accused, identified as Ayan Ahmed Tanveer Ahmed, also known as Mohammad Ayaz, is a resident of Paratwada.
Police initiated action following a complaint by a local political leader. The accused was produced before a court and remanded to police custody, which has been extended till April 21 as the investigation continues.

According to investigators, the accused allegedly targeted minor girls through messaging platforms such as WhatsApp and Snapchat. He is believed to have gained their trust by initiating conversations and forming relationships before exploiting them.
Police said that some victims were lured to cities like Mumbai and Pune. The accused allegedly recorded explicit videos without consent and later used them to threaten victims, coercing them into further exploitation.
Authorities suspect the case could be far larger than initially reported. While claims suggest that around 180 girls may have been targeted, police have officially confirmed seven victims so far.
More than 350 obscene videos are believed to be linked to the accused. Officials have seized mobile phones and electronic devices, which are currently being examined by forensic experts. Investigators are also attempting to recover deleted data that may hold crucial evidence.
Cyber Cell teams are analysing whether any of the videos were circulated online and if additional individuals were involved.
