Mumbai: Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film “120 Bahadur” has been embroiled in controversy even before its release. The Ahir community is protesting against the film, which is being held over the film’s title. Find out why these protests are taking place.

Long traffic jam due to foot march
Members of the Ahir community have taken to the streets to protest Farhan Akhtar’s film “120 Bahadur.” They are demanding the film’s name be changed to “120 Veer Ahir.” A community member held a foot march in Gurugram today. The Ahir community’s foot march from Kherki Daula toll to the Delhi border caused a kilometer-long traffic jam on NH-48, raising questions about the district administration’s permission for the protest.

Protesters began their march on foot from the Kherki Daula toll in the morning and headed towards the Delhi border. During this, hundreds of Ahir leaders and supporters took to the streets, chanting slogans, completely halting vehicular traffic on NH-48. The traffic jam was so long that vehicles coming from Jaipur were stranded for hours. The toll plaza was also blocked by protesters, affecting tax collection.

The film is based on the Battle of Rezangla during the 1962 India-China War
The film ‘120 Bahadur’ is based on the historic Battle of Rezangla during the 1962 India-China War, in which 114 Ahir soldiers of the 13th Kumaon Regiment displayed indomitable courage. These brave soldiers have earned the title of ‘Veer Ahir’. The Ahir community alleges that the title of the film, ‘120 Bahadur’, is an insult to these martyrs because it distorts numbers and history. The Ahir community demands that the title be changed to ‘120 Veer Ahir’.
