Major Accident in Jaitpur Due to Wall Collapse
New Delhi: A horrific accident occurred on Saturday morning in the Jaitpur police station area of southeastern Delhi, in which 7 people lost their lives. At around 9:30 am, the about 100-foot-long wall of the tomb near Hari Nagar village suddenly collapsed, under which several slums were buried under the rubble. In this incident, 8 people were saved and admitted to AIIMS Trauma Center and Safdarjung Hospital, out of which 7 died during treatment.

Identification of victims
The dead include three men (Safiqul, 27 years; Muttus, 50 years; and Ravi Bul, 2y years), two women (Rubina, 25 years, and Dolly, 25 years), and two minor girls (Rukhsana, 6 years, and Hasina, 7 years). An injured Hasibul is still undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Relief and Rescue Work
Delhi Police, the Fire Brigade, and NDRF teams are posted on the spot. Local people and people buried under debris were evacuated with the help of a JCB machine. DCP South-East Hemant Tiwari said that the police reached the spot in 5-7 minutes as soon as the incident was reported.
The condition of the incident
According to Manoj Mahlawat, an officer of the fire brigade, the wall built at the tomb was about 100 feet long. DM Dr. Saravan Bagadia and the DDMA team also reached the spot.
Administration response
Search for other people buried in the debris continues. Hospitals have been alerted to treat the injured. Investigation of the reasons for the wall collapse has been started.
Local people's response
Slum residents say that this wall was already in a Damadol position, but the administration did not pay attention to it. He has demanded immediate compensation to the families of the deceased.
The accident raises questions on the unsafe structures near the slums in Delhi. The administration should regularly inspect such walls and buildings so that such tragedies can be stopped in the future.
