New Delhi: An Air India Express flight from Bhogapuram in Andhra Pradesh to Bengaluru encountered a bird strike on Monday but landed safely at Kempegowda International Airport. All 148 passengers and crew members on board were unharmed.
Following the incident, technical teams inspected the aircraft to check for possible damage to its structure and engines. The checks were carried out as part of standard safety procedures to ensure the plane was fit to resume operations.
An Air India Express spokesperson confirmed that the aircraft had been cleared for service after the inspection, adding that the incident had not affected flight operations.
"Our Bhogapuram-Bengaluru flight reported a bird strike. The aircraft was inspected and has been declared serviceable. There has been no impact on our operations," the spokesperson said in a statement.

A similar incident was reported on October 17, when an Emirates flight travelling from Dubai to Delhi suffered a bird strike while approaching the national capital. The collision damaged the aircraft's nose cone, and its return flight to Dubai was delayed by more than 14 hours as repairs were carried out.
Bird strikes occur when birds collide with aircraft during flight or near airports. Depending on the severity of the impact, such incidents can damage critical components, including the nose cone, windscreen and engines.
While many bird strikes cause little or no damage, affected aircraft may require detailed technical inspections and repairs before being cleared for further operations.
