New Delhi: There is a wave of joy within the Samajwadi Party over the release of senior leader Azam Khan. On this occasion, SP President Akhilesh Yadav not only welcomed him but also made a major political promise.
Akhilesh Yadav, on Azam Khan's release from jail, said, "Today is a very happy day for all of us that Azam Sahib is out of jail." He described it as an emotional moment for the party. Cases will be withdrawn as soon as the government is formed.

Akhilesh made it clear that if the Samajwadi Party forms the government in Uttar Pradesh, "All cases filed against Azam Khan will be withdrawn."
This statement not only symbolizes support for Azam Khan but also reflects his stature and importance within the party.
When asked by the media about speculation about Azam Khan joining the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Akhilesh Yadav said, "Azam Khan is a founding member of the party and has made many sacrifices for the party."
He thus clarified that Azam Khan will remain with the SP.
Azam Khan released from Sitapur jail after 23 months
Although Azam Khan was scheduled to be released at 9 a.m., it was delayed due to legal procedures. He had a ₹3,000 fine that had not been paid earlier.
Thousands of Azam Khan's supporters were present outside the Sitapur District Jail. His son Adeeb Azam and SP MP Ruchi Veera also arrived. Adeeb told the media, "Azam Khan is today's hero. I have come with all my supporters to welcome him."

When Azam Khan emerged from jail wearing dark glasses, the media attempted to speak to him. But police surrounded the vehicle, preventing any statement from him. Azam Khan's release is being seen as a symbolic victory for the Samajwadi Party.
