Puja organizer and BJP councilor Sajal Ghosh has accused the police and administration of non-cooperation. He said that the police detained one of his advertisers for three hours without reason. Despite demanding documents from the lighting and sound agency, the police granted permission. Ghosh warned that if the situation persists, the pandal's lights will be turned off.
Sajal Ghosh alleged that the police are deliberately narrowing the 15-foot-wide road and sending the crowd onto a 4-foot path, which could lead to a stampede. He said that if a stampede occurs, the police will blame the puja organizers, so they will cancel the Durga Puja if they deem it necessary.
Some videos went viral on social media showing people breaking police barricades to enter Santosh Mitra Square. Sajal Ghosh said that the theme of 'Operation Sindoor' depicts the falling of the Pakistani flag, which is causing the government to create problems for their puja.
