Over 60% Voter Turnout in the Second Phase by 3 PM
Patna: Voters enthusiastically participated in the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections. By 3 PM, the state recorded over 60% voter turnout. This data suggests that a new voting record could be set in Bihar this time. The 2000 Assembly elections saw a voter turnout of 62.57%, while the 1998 Lok Sabha elections saw a voter turnout of 64.6%. This record is likely to be broken this time.
Some districts performed exceptionally well in the second phase. Kishanganj recorded 51.86%, Gaya 50.95%, Jamui 50.91%, and Banka 50.07%. Voters also participated enthusiastically in Aurangabad (49.45%), Kaimur (49.89%), and Purnia (49.63%).
However, voter turnout was relatively low in some districts. Madhubani recorded the lowest voter turnout so far at 43.39%, while voting rates were also slow in Nawada (43.45%) and Sitamarhi (45.28%).

Prominent leaders of political parties also appealed to the public to strengthen democracy by voting. JDU Working President Sanjay Jha, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Purnia MP Pappu Yadav, and Bihar Congress Chief Rajesh Ram cast their votes in their respective constituencies.
Senior BJP leaders Nitish Mishra and Shahnawaz Hussain, and Jamui MLA and shooter Shreyasi Singh also cast their votes. Meanwhile, Bhojpuri singer Pawan Singh's wife and independent candidate Jyoti Singh cast her vote in Karakat, urging the public to "vote in large numbers for the future of Bihar."
After casting her vote, Tejashwi Yadav, the Grand Alliance's Chief Ministerial candidate, said, "The record turnout in the first phase was a message from the public that Bihar is tired of false promises. The public now wants results and respect." He expressed confidence that a "new Bihar" will emerge with the results on November 14th.
