JNUSU Polls 2025: Counting Continues, Results Expected by Evening
New Delhi: The biggest festival of student politics is reaching its decisive stage at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), one of the country's prestigious universities. Counting of votes for the JNU Students' Union Elections 2025 is underway today, November 6, and the results are expected to be declared by evening. This time, the contest remains intense between the Left Unity (United Left) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
A total of 20 candidates are contesting for the four central posts of President, Vice President, General Secretary, and Joint Secretary. Political equations are changing with each round of counting. Early trends clearly indicate that no single party has an absolute lead, and the contest remains extremely close.

Police and university security personnel are deployed at every entrance to deal with any untoward incident.
According to the latest trends, Left Unity candidate Danish has taken an early lead in the Joint Secretary position. He is leading his ABVP rival by 84 votes. However, the contest for the other three positions—President, Vice President, and General Secretary—is still very close.
Seven candidates are contesting for the President position, but the main contest is expected to be between Aditi Mishra of Left Unity and Vikas Patel of ABVP. NSUI's Vikas Bishnoi and BAPSA's Raj Ratan Rajoria are trailing in the initial trends.
Aditi Mishra said, "JNU has always championed the ideology of democracy, equality, and freedom of expression, and students will once again support progressive politics."
Vikas Patel added, "There is a growing inclination among students towards nationalist thinking in JNU, and this election will set a new direction."
