Following the Bihar Assembly election victory, the BJP has launched a strict internal clean-up to enforce party discipline. Former Union Minister RK Singh has been suspended for six years for repeatedly making anti-party statements, along with Katihar Mayor Usha Agarwal and MLC Ashok Agarwal.

Patna: The Bihar Assembly election results have brought celebrations to the NDA camp, with the BJP emerging as the single largest party in the state. The NDA’s strong performance has cemented its position to form a majority government.
In the aftermath of the victory, the BJP has launched a rigorous internal clean-up drive aimed at strengthening organizational discipline. Action is being taken against leaders repeatedly involved in anti-party activities during or prior to the elections. As part of this crackdown, three leaders—including former Union Minister RK Singh, have been expelled.
The BJP issued an official letter suspending RK Singh from the party for six years. He is accused of repeatedly making statements against the party during the elections, demonstrating indiscipline, and questioning the coalition leadership. In the suspension letter, the BJP clearly states that his actions were against party interests and damaged the organization's image.
The letter also stated that this action was taken based on a show-cause notice, and RK Singh has been asked to present his side of the story within a week.

In addition to RK Singh, the BJP has also taken action against two other leaders: Katihar Mayor Usha Agarwal and MLC Ashok Agarwal. The party has suspended them on charges of indiscipline and anti-party activities.
The BJP says this step has been taken to strengthen the organization and maintain discipline among its workers. Both leaders had repeatedly made statements deviating from the party line before and after the elections and had spread discontent at the local level.
RK Singh had repeatedly shown a rebellious attitude during the Bihar elections. He supported Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishore's corruption allegations. Furthermore, he had stood against BJP and NDA leaders on several occasions. This created an uncomfortable situation within the alliance, forcing the BJP's top leadership to take strong notice of his statements.
During a public meeting in September, RK Singh said, "I have served as Bihar's Home Secretary. I have accounts of everyone. If anyone misbehaves, I will expose them all. The people of Bihar will not tolerate corrupt leaders. Corrupt and characterless leaders are a burden on the earth." This statement sparked outrage among leaders of both the BJP and the JDU.
Furthermore, he openly criticized Bihar's liquor ban policy, saying the state government should immediately reverse this decision. These statements put the BJP in a difficult position, especially when the election atmosphere was at its peak.

By taking action against such rebel leaders immediately after the victory, the BJP has attempted to convey the message that discipline is paramount in the party. No matter how high-ranking a leader holds, statements that deviate from the party line or indiscipline will not be tolerated. The BJP also states that to further strengthen the organization after the electoral victory, it is necessary to take action against leaders who harm the party's image.
Political analysts believe that the BJP wants to convey two messages through this action:
1. Rebellion within the party will not be allowed to grow under any circumstances.
2. Preparations for 2025 have already begun in the state, and the party is identifying those who display rebellious attitudes.
RK Singh's criticisms and open attacks on party leaders could have affected relations within the BJP-NDA alliance in the future. Therefore, this action is considered politically necessary for the BJP.
