Patna: Immediately following the Bihar election results, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took a major disciplinary step, suspending former Union Minister RK Singh from the party.

The party issued an official letter clarifying that this action was necessary due to Singh's continued controversial and party-crossing statements.

RK Singh had been making serious allegations against the NDA leadership, candidates, and the Bihar government for several days.

He not only questioned the credibility of some alliance candidates but also appealed to the people from public platforms that "it is better to drown in a small puddle of water than to vote for such people." This statement sparked sharp reactions within and outside the BJP.

The biggest controversy arose when Singh openly referred to Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, JDU leader Anant Singh, and RJD's Suraj Bhan Singh as "murder accused."

He said that these figures, who are increasing the criminalization of Bihar politics, are in no way fit to be public representatives.

Singh also accused the Nitish Kumar government of a Rs 62,000 crore power scam.

He claimed that the power purchase agreement with the Adani Group was a "fraud on the public" and concealed massive financial irregularities.

He alleged that the government would purchase power from Adani Power at Rs 6.75 per unit, while the current market rate was significantly lower.

Singh questioned why the project was suddenly handed over to private hands when the plant was scheduled to be built by NTPC and had been announced in the Union Budget.

The government should clarify in whose interest and to whom this change was made.

Sharing documents on social media, he said that the fixed charge per unit under the NTPC model would have been Rs2.32, but the government approved it at Rs 4.16.

This means an additional burden of Rs1.84 per unit, which will lead to irregularities worth thousands of crores.

RK Singh wrote, "Theft and boasting cannot go together. It is not in our culture to remain silent on corruption."

The BJP says his membership was terminated for damaging the party's image and repeatedly attacking the coalition leadership.

Amidst the euphoria of the election victory, this development has created new tensions in Bihar politics.
