CBSE announces two board exam
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct two board exams in a year from next year. Till now this was a draft policy. But now it has been confirmed. CBSE Exam Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj has given information today on Wednesday, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
This rule is currently being implemented only on CBSE Board Class 10 exam. CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj also said that it will be mandatory for class 10 students to appear in the first phase of the exam.
Whereas the second phase exam will be optional. It means, if you want, you can appear in it or not, it will be the student's choice.
It is mandatory for class 10 students to appear in the first phase of the board exam, the second phase will be optional. Internal assessment will be done only once.
After this decision, students will get a chance to improve their marks. If a student's marks are low in the first phase, he will be able to improve by performing well in the second phase.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has approved the norms to conduct board examinations twice a year for class 10th, a move recommended in the new National Education Policy (NEP).

CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said, "The first phase will be conducted in February and the second in May. The results of both the phases will be declared in April and June respectively.
As per the approved norms, class 10 students of schools participating in the winter session will get the option to appear in the board examination in any phase. Internal assessment will be done only once during the academic session.
The CBSE had announced the draft norms in February. These were later put in the public domain for feedback from stakeholders. The decision is in line with the recommendations of the new education policy, according to which, to eliminate the "high-stakes" aspect of board exams, all students will be allowed to take the exams on two occasions during any school year.
