
Passenger Opens Emergency Exit on Moving Aircraft
Chennai: Tension gripped Chennai International Airport early Sunday when a passenger allegedly opened an emergency exit door while the aircraft was taxiing. The incident involved an Air Arabia flight that had just arrived from Sharjah with 231 passengers on board.
Pilot Halts Aircraft Immediately
As the aircraft was moving along the taxiway, a 34-year-old man from Pudukkottai reportedly triggered the emergency exit. The pilot reacted swiftly, bringing the aircraft to a complete halt and alerting airport authorities without delay.
CISF Launches Rapid Response
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, including armed officers and bomb disposal experts, rushed to the scene. The aircraft was secured and a detailed inspection was carried out to rule out any potential threats.
Passenger Detained, Mental Health Under Review
Security officials boarded the plane and detained the passenger. He has been taken into custody for questioning, and authorities are also assessing his mental condition as part of the investigation.
