Chhattisgarh: A phone hides in slipper to cheat in JEE main exam

A case of alleged cheating attempt during the JEE Mains examination has surfaced in Durg district, where a candidate was caught with a concealed mobile phone at an examination centre in Bhilai.

Raipur: A shocking case of cheating during the JEE Mains exam has come to light from Durg district, Chhattisgarh. A candidate attempted to cheat by hiding a mobile phone inside his slippers. The incident occurred at the examination center, Parthivi Engineering and Management College, located in Bhilai-3, where the exam was held on April 2nd. Police have detained the accused student, Aditya Kumar, and begun questioning him.

Student Entered After Routine Check

According to reports, Aditya Kumar arrived at the examination center on time and entered the examination hall after the routine security check. Initially, his movements seemed normal, which did not arouse any suspicion. He appeared calm and composed.

Change in Gait After Bio-Break

During the exam, Aditya went to the washroom for a bio-break at around 11:08 a.m. When he returned about 20 minutes later, his gait caught the attention of the security guard. He was dragging his slippers along, which was unusual. The guard became suspicious and immediately decided to stop him and investigate.

Mobile phone hidden in slippers

When the guard made him remove his slippers and examine them, everyone was astonished by what they saw inside. A mobile phone had been hidden inside the slippers by cutting them open. Such a unique method had never been seen before. The student was planning to use this mobile phone to cheat during the exam.

Police Arrested

The examination center officials were immediately informed of the incident. Upon instructions from the management, Dial 112 was called, after which the police arrived at the scene. The police took the accused student into custody and took him to the Old Bhilai police station and confiscated the mobile phone.

Case Registered, Investigation Underway

The police have registered a case under Section 9 of the Chhattisgarh Public Examinations Act 2008. They are currently investigating whether anyone else is involved in this matter.
