Bijapur: Police and security forces have once again achieved great success in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh.

Security forces killed Naxal Kanna, who had a bounty of Rs 10 lakh, in an encounter in the National Park on Sunday. His body and 303 rifle were recovered during the search.

According to the Dynamite News correspondent, the Naxalite killed was Sodhi Kanna, who was a resident of Kistaram in Jagargunda police station area. A reward of Rs 10 lakh was announced on him. This encounter is being considered a major success for the security forces. Because Sodhi Kanna was playing an active role in many Naxalite incidents for a long time. He was included in the hit list of the security forces.

Bijapur Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav said that information was received about the activities of Maoist cadres in the National Park area of ​​the district. On which a joint team of DRG Bijapur, DRG Dantewada, STF, Cobra 202, Cobra 210 and CRPF was sent on search operation from July 4.

During the operation, there were intermittent encounters between security forces and Maoists. After the encounter ended, Sodhi Kanna's body and weapons were recovered during the search.

Security forces recovered 303 rifle and 5 live rounds, AK-47 magazine and 59 live rounds, Maoist uniform, codex wire, detonator, safety fuse, Naxalite literature, radio and daily use items from the encounter site.

According to the information, Sodhi Kanna has been involved in many major incidents including Maoist activities in Tekalgudiyam area, attack on Dharmaram camp. He was an associate of CCM Madvi Hidma and was working as a sniper in the battalion. His death has caused heavy loss to the Maoist organization in terms of sniper capabilities.

Meanwhile, Maoists have carried out another incident last night in Chinnakodepal village of Modakpal police station area of ​​Bijapur district. According to reliable sources, Maoists have brutally murdered former village sarpanch and current ward panch Vijay Jawwa with sharp weapons.

After the murder, Maoists threw his body on the main road of the village, due to which there is an atmosphere of fear and panic among the villagers. Tension has prevailed in the area as soon as the information about the incident was received.

After the encounter, the search operation is still going on in the area.
