Kolkata: Amidst the election atmosphere in West Bengal, political rhetoric has intensified on the occasion of Eid. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, addressing thousands of people after the Eid prayers on Kolkata's Red Road, leveled several serious allegations against the BJP. She stated that people's right to vote will not be taken away at any cost and that her party will fight against it until the very end.
Mamata Banerjee alleged that the central government is trying to impinge on people's rights by making changes to the voter list before the elections. The Trinamool Congress says that a large number of names are being removed under the special revision process, the impact of which is being felt especially in minority areas. Mamata warned that any such process will not be tolerated.
In her address, the Chief Minister stated that her party is committed to protecting democracy and the rights of every citizen. She clarified that any form of injustice or discrimination will not be tolerated in Bengal. Mamata Banerjee also stated that her government stands with the people and will protect their rights under all circumstances.
Mamata Banerjee, citing Bengal's tradition of living together in the state, said that all communities - Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians - live together. She appealed for unity and brotherhood and said that any kind of hate or divisive politics will have no place in Bengal. Her statement is being considered significant in the electoral context.
On the occasion of Eid, Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee also addressed the people. He said that attempts to divide society in the name of Hindu-Muslim will not succeed. He emphasized that in reality, not just one community, but the entire country is facing challenges. Abhishek Banerjee appealed to the people to strengthen the unity of the country by uniting, not based on religion.
