Rs8,189 Crore Saved

The Ministry noted that under the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS), operational since 2021, authorities have successfully saved over Rs8,189 crore across more than 23.61 lakh complaints by enabling swift intervention to prevent siphoning of funds.

A dedicated toll-free helpline, 1930, has been set up to assist victims in real-time reporting of cyber financial frauds.

States Responsible for Investigation

The government reiterated that ‘Police’ and ‘Public Order’ are State subjects under the Constitution, and investigation, FIR registration, and charge-sheet filing are handled by respective State/UT law enforcement agencies.

To strengthen cybercrime investigation capabilities, the Ministry of Home Affairs has established the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C).

A state-of-the-art National Digital Investigation Support Centre operates in New Delhi and Assam, having assisted in over 13,299 cybercrime cases till December 31, 2025.

Additionally, cyber forensic divisions are now functional in 27 State/UT Forensic Science Laboratories (FSLs), while cyber forensic-cum-training labs have been commissioned in 33 States/UTs.
