New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha, delivering a strong critique of the Congress party. His speech was marked by sharp attacks on Congress policies and the party’s alleged personal and regional biases.

Rahul Gandhi Accuses Modi of Avoiding Questions

Raising concerns on social media, Rahul Gandhi accused PM Modi of seeking “shelter in falsehood” to avoid difficult questions. He implied that Modi is uncomfortable facing truth and prefers deception over transparency.

The Prime Minister, in his speech, retaliated against Gandhi’s previous remarks in which BJP MP Ravneet Bittu was labeled a traitor, calling it a direct insult to Bittu and the Sikh community.

Alleged Insult to the Sikh Community

PM Modi condemned Congress for allegedly targeting Ravneet Bittu based on his Sikh identity. He described this as an expression of deep-seated prejudice within the party. Modi stated that such actions were disrespectful not only to Bittu but to the Sikh community and its spiritual traditions.

He also accused Congress of harboring resentment against the people of Assam, citing the party’s opposition to awarding the Bharat Ratna to renowned singer Bhupen Hazarika as an example of regional and cultural bias. According to Modi, dismissing Hazarika’s contributions was an insult to both Assam and India’s artistic heritage.

Congress’ Alleged Hostility Towards Modi

Prime Minister Modi reiterated his previous statements that Congress harbors hostility toward him, figuratively wanting to “dig his grave.” He attributed this animosity to several government initiatives: abrogating Article 370, restoring development and peace in Northeast India, countering Pakistani terrorists, conducting Operation Sindoor, and taking decisive steps against Maoist terrorism.

Modi argued that these accomplishments frustrate Congress, leaving them with no other way to oppose him except through personal attacks.

Accusations of Hypocrisy and Regional Bias

Modi’s speech also highlighted Congress’ alleged hypocrisy, emphasizing that the party fails to support startups, neglects regional contributions, and maintains entrenched biases.

He portrayed Congress as a party driven by arrogance and prejudice, rather than constructive political engagement. The Prime Minister framed these critiques within the broader narrative of his government’s focus on national security, economic development, and cultural recognition.

PM Modi’s Rajya Sabha speech was a combative defense of his government and personal integrity. By linking Congress’ attacks to historical grievances, regional prejudice, and personal animosity, Modi sought to assert his achievements while painting the opposition as incapable of constructive criticism.
