New Delhi: The much-awaited Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, which now covers the distance from Delhi to Dehradun in just two and a half hours, has been opened to the public today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate this modern expressway in Dehradun. This new highway has made travel faster and more convenient, but it also comes with several strict rules.

Speed ​​Limits and Strict Traffic Rules

The Transport Department has clarified that adhering to the prescribed speed limit on the expressway will be mandatory. High-tech cameras have been installed along the entire route, which will automatically issue challans for overspeeding and driving in the wrong direction. Stopping in the middle of the road or making U-turns is strictly prohibited on the expressway. Travelers must prioritize entry and exit points.

Horns Banned in Rajaji National Park

A portion of the expressway passes through Rajaji National Park, where honking is strictly prohibited for wildlife protection. Maintaining peace in this area is essential to ensure the animals' natural behavior is not affected. Hefty fines will be imposed for violating these rules.

Special caution is required at Dehradun entry point

The expressway near the Asharodi area in Dehradun has a steep slope. The administration has warned that it is extremely important to maintain vehicle speed control on this section, as speeding can increase the risk of accidents. Slow driving is also advised in the tunnel area near the Datkali Temple.

Be fully prepared before traveling

Since this route is new, petrol pumps and service facilities are not fully developed at many locations. Therefore, travelers are advised to check fuel, tire pressure, and vehicle thoroughly before traveling. The use of low-beam headlights has been made mandatory during night driving to avoid disturbing oncoming vehicles.
