Petwar village welcomes CJI Surya Kant with grand ceremony
Hansi/Haryana: On the second day of his Haryana tour on 10 January, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant visited his ancestral village, Petwar, in Hansi district. A special ceremony was held at the village sports stadium in his honor, attended by senior citizens, students, and local officials. The visit provided an opportunity for villagers and children to interact with the CJI and hear about his journey.
During his address, CJI Surya Kant expressed deep gratitude to his village and family. “I have always been connected to this soil. I was born here and studied in our local school. My brothers ensured that I never missed my studies. Without their support, I could not have reached this stage,” he said.
He also spoke about the guidance of his parents and teachers. “Whenever I met the elders, I touched their feet and received blessings. It is because of these blessings that I stand here today,” he added. CJI Surya Kant recalled his mother’s words: “Become a judge and deliver justice with your heart.”

Reflecting on his student life, CJI Surya Kant said he faced financial difficulties during his studies. “Education is the key to success, and challenges can be overcome with dedication and hard work,” he said.
Addressing village children, he said, “You are the future of the nation. Work hard, remain honest, and bring pride to your village, family, and society.”
