New Delhi: The weather is expected to remain dry and normal in most parts of the country for the next two days. According to the India Meteorological Department, there are no signs of any major changes in many regions, including North India. However, this stable weather period will not last long, and after this, the weather in the hilly states may change rapidly.

New Western Disturbance to Have Impact

The Meteorological Department has stated that a new Western Disturbance will become active in the Western Himalayan region from the night of February 8th. As a result, cloud cover will increase in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, leading to the possibility of rain and snowfall. Light to moderate rain and snowfall may be recorded in many high-altitude areas between February 9th and 11th, which will increase the cold again.

Fog to Increase Trouble

Dense fog is expected in some parts of Himachal Pradesh during the morning and night hours until February 8th. Driving on hilly roads may be hazardous due to reduced visibility. The Meteorological Department has advised drivers and passengers to be cautious due to the possibility of slippery roads and accidents.

Transport services may be affected

Rain, snowfall, and dense fog may impact air, rail, and road traffic. Flight delays, train speeds, and traffic jams are expected on mountain routes. People planning to travel to the mountains have been advised to consult the weather forecast and take necessary precautions. There is also a possibility of power outages during bad weather.

No significant change in temperature expected

According to the Meteorological Department, minimum temperatures in northwest India will remain relatively unchanged for the time being, but a slight increase of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius is possible after that. Temperatures are expected to remain relatively stable in central India, while eastern India may experience a slight decrease over the next 24 hours. An upper-air cyclonic circulation persists over the Comorin region of southern India, but there are no signs of any major danger at this time.

Overall, after calm weather for the next few days, an active system in the hilly states may bring cold, snowfall, and increased travel challenges, so it's important to remain vigilant.
