Election Commission confirms flawless and no irregularities voting in Bihar’s first Phase

New Delhi: Regarding the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections held on Thursday on 6 November, the Election Commission has categorically stated that there were no irregularities at any polling booth. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar described it as a historic and peaceful election. Election Commission Report On Friday, 7 November, the Election Commission reported that no violations or irregularities were found at any polling station during the first phase of voting. Voters broke several previous records, and the voting process was completely peaceful. Vinod Kumar Gunjyal Bihar's Chief Electoral Officer, Vinod Kumar Gunjyal, stated that fewer EVMs were replaced this time than in previous elections. He said that a total of 1.21% of ballot units were replaced in this election, compared to 1.87% in the 2020 elections. Similarly, 1.34% of control units were replaced this time, compared to 1.77% in the previous election. According to the Election Commission, a total of 1,314 candidates were contesting in the first phase, including 1,192 men and 122 women. Approximately 8,609 polling stations were set up in urban areas and 36,733 in rural areas.
