France Opens Doors Wider For Indian Students With Easier Visas
New Delhi: French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday announced sweeping measures to attract more Indian students to France, including simplified visa procedures and expanded English-language programmes. Speaking in New Delhi alongside Narendra Modi, Macron said France aims to triple the number of Indian students from 10,000 to 30,000 annually by 2030.
The announcement came during high-level discussions on Indo-French cooperation in education, science and technology.

Macron said France will streamline visa processes to make it easier for Indian students to access its universities and research institutions. He also highlighted the expansion of English-taught programmes, enabling Indian students to pursue higher education without language barriers.
The move is aimed at strengthening academic exchanges and making French institutions more globally accessible.
During his visit, Macron inaugurated the Indo-French Campus on AI in Global Health at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The centre will focus on artificial intelligence applications in healthcare, promoting joint research, innovation and skill development between the two nations.

Officials said the initiative will combine India’s talent pool with France’s research capabilities to address global health challenges.

The announcements mark a significant step in deepening India-France ties across education, technology and innovation sectors.
