GAIL CMD Sandeep Kumar Gupta Honoured with Mahatma Award 2025 for Leadership in Sustainability and Social Impact

Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL (India) Limited, becomes the first-ever public sector leader to receive the prestigious Mahatma Award for his exceptional leadership in business sustainability and social responsibility.

New Delhi: In a remarkable acknowledgment of visionary leadership and commitment to sustainable growth, Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL (India) Limited, has been conferred with the Mahatma Award 2025 for Leadership in Business Sustainability and Social Impact.

The Mahatma Award, inspired by the values and principles of Mahatma Gandhi, honours individuals and organizations that have made meaningful contributions to ethical leadership, sustainability, and nation-building.

As per Dynamite News correspondent, Sandeep Gupta is the first-ever leader from India’s public sector to receive this honour since the inception of the awards in 2019- marking a historic moment for GAIL and the broader public enterprise community.

The award was presented at a distinguished ceremony by Dr. Kiran Bedi, India’s first woman IPS officer and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, along with Amit Sachdeva, renowned Gandhian, lawyer and founder of the Mahatma Awards, popularly known as the “CSR Man of India”.
