New Delhi: Concern about LPG supply in India has increased due to increasing tension in West Asia and disruption of ship movement in the Strait of Hormuz. For this reason, people are increasingly buying induction stoves and utensils related to them, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
In view of this increasing demand, the Central Government held an important meeting on Friday. The meeting was chaired by Piyush Goyal, which was attended by many senior officials. It was discussed in the meeting how to rapidly increase the production of induction heaters and utensils related to it.
According to officials, the demand for products like induction stoves and electric kettles has suddenly increased, and they are being sold rapidly in the market.
People are adopting alternative cooking options in view of the possible shortage of gas.
Taking another major step, the government has removed custom duty on the import of petrochemical products for 3 months. This relief will remain applicable till June 30. This will benefit the pharmaceutical, textile, chemical, and auto sectors.
This decision will have an impact of about ₹ 1800 crore on the government exchequer.
If the situation continues like this, then both the availability and price of cooking gas in India may be affected. The government is currently focusing on alternative options and keeping the supply stable.
