Haryana Government has taken control of Al-Falah University in Faridabad following an inquiry that revealed multiple statutory violations and serious irregularities in its functioning.

Faridabad: The Haryana government has taken over Al-Falah University, a private institution embroiled in a major controversy since some its doctors were found allegedly linked to the Delhi bomb blast of November last year.
The government of Haryana has appointed IAS officer Amit Agarwal as an Administrator of the University based in Faridabad, on the outskirts of Delhi.
Al-Falah University got caught in a controversy after three doctors working there were allegedly found linked to terrorism. One of them was alleged to have exploded a van laden with explosives near Red Fort in Delhi on November 10, 2025.
The Government of Haryana has taken control of the University following an inquiry which allegedly found multiple statutory violations and serious irregularities in its functioning.
The move to take over the University includes a major overhaul its administrative and financial structure.
Aggarwal has assumed charge of the institution’s financial and administrative affairs.
Officials stated that the decision aims to stabilise governance at the university while ensuring that academic activities continue smoothly for around 1,700 students. The government’s intervention is being seen as a step towards enforcing accountability and restoring proper management in higher education institutions.

As part of the rehauling of the University, Ajay Ranga has been appointed as Vice Chancellor, while Rajeev Kumar Singh will serve as controller of examinations. Ravi Kumar Sharma has been appointed chief finance and accounts officer, while Meha Sharma will serve as registrar. New appointments have also been made for registrar and finance roles.
The action also comes amid heightened scrutiny after individuals linked to the institution came under investigation in connection with the Red Fort blast on November 10, 2025.
Established in 2013, Al-Falah University is yet to secure accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Officials said gaps in earlier regulations allowed compliance issues to go unchecked, prompting the need for stronger oversight.
The government said its intervention is aimed at restoring proper governance while safeguarding students’ academic interests.
