Indian security forces thwarted a major infiltration attempt near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara. Two terrorists were neutralized during Operation Pimple, launched after intelligence inputs, as search and combing continue in the area.
Two Terrorists Killed as Army Foils Infiltration Bid
New Delhi: Security forces have once again foiled an infiltration attempt in the Keran sector of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir. Two terrorists were killed in a joint operation by the Indian Army and security agencies on Saturday. This operation was conducted under “Operation Pimple,” which was launched on November 7.
The Indian Army's White Chinar Corps stated that they received specific intelligence inputs on November 7 that some terrorists were attempting to infiltrate into India from Pakistan through the Keran sector. Based on this information, the Army, police, and other agencies launched a joint operation.

Security forces observed suspicious activity near the border and challenged the terrorists. The terrorists then opened indiscriminate fire. In retaliation, security forces killed two terrorists. The army stated that a search operation is still underway in the area to confirm the presence of any other terrorists.
Earlier, on November 5, an encounter also took place between security forces and terrorists in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir. There too, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a joint operation.

This operation was also based on intelligence information that some terrorists were hiding in the area. During a search operation in the morning, the terrorists opened fire, after which the army retaliated.
The Army shared information on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), stating that their personnel are vigilant at all times and ready to thwart any infiltration attempt. The Keran sector, located near the Line of Control (LoC), is considered a sensitive area for terrorist infiltration attempts.
The swift action by the security forces clearly demonstrates that the security apparatus in Jammu and Kashmir is fully active in thwarting every terrorist plot. The killing of the two terrorists is considered a major success for the security forces, while search operations are still underway in the area.
