New Delhi: Security forces have once again foiled an infiltration attempt in the Keran sector of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir. Two terrorists were killed in a joint operation by the Indian Army and security agencies on Saturday. This operation was conducted under “Operation Pimple,” which was launched on November 7.

How the operation unfolded?

The Indian Army's White Chinar Corps stated that they received specific intelligence inputs on November 7 that some terrorists were attempting to infiltrate into India from Pakistan through the Keran sector. Based on this information, the Army, police, and other agencies launched a joint operation.

Security forces observed suspicious activity near the border and challenged the terrorists. The terrorists then opened indiscriminate fire. In retaliation, security forces killed two terrorists. The army stated that a search operation is still underway in the area to confirm the presence of any other terrorists.

Earlier, on November 5, an encounter also took place between security forces and terrorists in the Chatroo area of ​​Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir. There too, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a joint operation.
