Prayagraj: More than 90 people from Prayagraj are stuck in Iran due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. All these people had gone to Iran for religious pilgrimage (Ziyarat). Due to war-like conditions and network problems, they have lost contact with their relatives, due to which the concern of families living in different areas of Prayagraj is continuously increasing.

According to the Dynamite News correspondent, on May 19, a group of about 90 people from Dariyabad and other areas of Prayagraj left for Iran for Ziyarat. All of them flew from Delhi and reached Iran first and then Tehran. They were to return to India on June 14, but before that the tension between Iran and Israel increased so much that people got stuck on the way to the airport.

Stuck in the middle

MS Khan, a resident of Dariyabad in Prayagraj, said that his wife, mother-in-law, aunt, and other relatives are also included in this group. When all these people left to return to India from Tehran, the situation suddenly deteriorated on the way. In such a situation, when they tried to return to the hotel, the hotel management refused. Under compulsion, all the people had to stay in small groups at different places.

Problem of accommodation and food

The situation in Iran has become so bad that people are facing great difficulties in arranging accommodation and food. The biggest problem is that the group includes a large number of women, who are very scared and stressed in an atmosphere of insecurity and uncertainty.

The families say that just as the Government of India brought back Indians safely under Operation Ganga during the Russia-Ukraine war, they should also be evacuated immediately.

Appeal to the Government of India

The families of the stranded people have appealed to the Government of India to immediately intervene in the war-like situation and make arrangements to bring Indian citizens back home safely. They have sought help from the Ministry of External Affairs and the Prime Minister's Office.

The situation of the Iran-Israel war is frightening

It is worth noting that for the last 5 days, violent conflict has been going on between Iran and Israel. Now a post by Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei is being considered as an official declaration of war. This development has made the situation more serious. Some international media reports have also said that America can also jump into this conflict.
