Srinagar: The political debate over Jammu and Kashmir’s reservation policy intensified on Saturday after Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti led a protest in Srinagar, demanding the public release of the long-pending Cabinet Sub-Committee report formed to review and rationalise the existing quota system.
The protest at the PDP office witnessed participation from party workers and supporters who raised concerns over the impact of the current reservation framework on Open Merit students and government job aspirants. The demonstrators demanded transparency from the administration, arguing that candidates affected by policy changes should be informed about the recommendations before any final decision.
