New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar held bilateral talks with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Bengaluru on Friday, inviting Poland to partner with the state at the Global Investors Meet 2027. He also highlighted a proposed investment of Rs 80 crore by a Polish business group, which could generate around 1,000 jobs in Karnataka.
Tusk and his delegation arrived in Bengaluru from Delhi on Thursday night for a series of engagements. The meeting at Taj West End was attended by Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domański and senior officials from both sides, along with Karnataka ministers M.B. Patil and Priyank Kharge, and senior state government officials.
“It is a pleasure to welcome the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Poland, Mr Donald Tusk, and the distinguished Polish delegation to Bengaluru, Karnataka’s global hub for technology, innovation and entrepreneurship,” Shivakumar said.
Inviting Poland to participate as a country partner at the Global Investors Meet 2027, the Chief Minister said Karnataka wanted to expand cooperation in investment, technology, innovation and employment. He pointed to Bengaluru’s technology ecosystem and Poland’s strengths in advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence and green energy as areas that could complement each other.
“Karnataka has considerable scope for further Polish investment, particularly in medical products, healthcare and advanced manufacturing,” he said. Shivakumar added that the state was looking for investments that would bring in new technologies, strengthen local industries, create quality jobs and boost exports.
Highlighting existing cooperation, Shivakumar referred to a Letter of Intent signed with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice and Kato.hub. The agreement aims to promote collaboration in artificial intelligence, gaming and deep-tech innovation, including a proposed Karnataka-Katowice Digital and Gaming Corridor.
The initiative is expected to bring startups, technology companies and research institutions from both sides together to develop new technologies and explore opportunities in each other’s markets.

Shivakumar also encouraged Polish technology firms to consider Bengaluru for investments in artificial intelligence, software, gaming, robotics, smart manufacturing and startup innovation. He called for stronger collaboration in research, education and technology transfer to create skilled employment.
Citing Infosys’s nearly 20-year presence in Poland, the Chief Minister said the company’s experience demonstrated the scope for expanding technology partnerships between India and Poland. He assured Polish businesses that Karnataka would facilitate investments in Bengaluru while helping companies from the state explore opportunities in Poland.
The Chief Minister identified renewable energy, waste-to-energy projects, sludge management, wastewater treatment and circular economy solutions as promising areas for cooperation. He said Polish expertise could support Karnataka’s environmental goals and sustainable industrial development.

Emphasising that Karnataka’s investment potential extended beyond Bengaluru, Shivakumar urged Polish companies to explore opportunities in the state’s districts and make use of its wider industrial ecosystem.
