Srinagar: This year, Kumbh Mela is going to be organized on a large scale in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. This is being considered a historic initiative because such a religious event is being organized again in Kashmir after a long time. Its objective is not only to organize religious programs but also to spread the message of peace and unity in the society, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
The 9-day Kumbh Mela will be held from July 15 to July 26 at Shadipora on the banks of the river Jhelum in North Kashmir's Bandipora district. This is the first time that this event is being organized on such a large scale.
According to the organizers, this fair used to take place in Kashmir till 1941 but later stopped. Now it is being started again so that people can be connected.
There will be many religious and cultural programs in this Kumbh Mela.
Organizers say that this fair will give the message that God is one, no matter by what name we call him.
The main objective of this event is to increase brotherhood in the society. Organizers said that Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians have all been invited.
Besides, this message will also be given that there should be no discrimination in the society and all people should live together in peace.
Organizers said that talks are going on with the army and administration for this big event. Complete preparations are being made regarding security so that the devotees do not face any kind of problem.
A special event will be held in Ladakh also. “Sindhu Mahakumbh” will be organized for the first time on the banks of the Indus River in Leh, Ladakh. This is also a historic step. “Sindhu Darshan Festival” has already been happening here, but now it will be celebrated on a larger scale.
