New Delhi: A major constitutional matter has emerged in the Lok Sabha—the Lower House of the country's Parliament. Approximately 130 Members of Parliament (MPs) had submitted a notice of motion seeking the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar from his post. This notice of motion was submitted on March 12, 2026, specifically demanding his removal, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
This notice of motion was introduced in accordance with the Constitution and the law. It specifically cited Article 324 of the Constitution of India, which pertains to the Election Commission.
Additionally, references were made to the Judges Inquiry Act 1968 and the laws enacted in 2023 concerning Election Commissioners. This signifies that the entire process was initiated in a legally compliant manner.
