The funeral procession, carrying his body adorned with flowers, was accompanied by chants of “Ajit Dada Amar Rahen”, reflecting the deep emotional connection between the leader and the people.
The final journey began in the Vidya Pratishthan complex, where thousands of supporters lined the streets, expressing grief openly. Emotions ran high as his body was transported through Baramati’s major roads, culminating in the funeral site at around 11 AM. Prominent leaders from across India attended the funeral to pay their respects. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with senior BJP leaders, visited Baramati to console the Pawar family.
Earlier, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS leader Raj Thackeray had also met the family to express condolences. Other dignitaries, including Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, BJP national leaders Nitin Gadkari and Nitin Naveen, were present.
Leaders lauded Ajit Pawar as a skilled administrator and a grounded, people-oriented politician, emphasizing that his absence will leave a lasting void in Maharashtra’s politics.
