Pune: The Vande Bharat Express (22225 CSMT-Solapur) derailed near Pune Railway Station on Monday evening. The fourth coach of the train derailed at a diamond crossing while entering the platform.
The incident occurred around 7:30 pm. As the train was entering the station, a trolley from the fourth coach derailed. According to railway officials, the accident occurred at a diamond crossing, which is considered one of the most complex sections of the track.
The best part is that no passenger was injured in this incident. All passengers are completely safe, averting a major tragedy. The railways have implemented alternative arrangements to avoid inconvenience to passengers.
A plan has been made to shift them to another train (rack) so that their journey can be completed quickly. It is being reported that the site of the accident is part of the Indian Railways' Pune Yard Remodeling Project.
Track upgrade work is already underway here, which could pose such technical challenges. Overall, this incident could have been serious, but it was brought under control in time.
The railways will now investigate this matter to prevent such incidents in the future.
