New Delhi: On Friday, The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said it has "no information to share" regarding allegations that Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke's outfit received foreign funding. The response came during the ministry's weekly media briefing amid growing political debate over the ongoing protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
When asked about reports alleging foreign financial support for Dipke's organisation, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "We have no information to share on this matter." The ministry neither confirmed nor denied the allegations and did not indicate whether any investigation into the claims was underway. It also did not disclose whether any other government agency had shared information with the MEA on the issue.
The allegations emerged as CJP continued its protest at Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak and examination irregularities. The agitation, led by Abhijeet Dipke and backed by activist Sonam Wangchuk, has become a major political focal point.
Talks between the Centre and CJP have failed to produce a breakthrough, with no clarity on Pradhan's resignation. The CJP has refused to withdraw its protest, insisting it will continue until its demands are met.
Meanwhile, National Testing Agency (NTA) has dismissed 47 officials as part of its overhaul following the alleged paper leak, while the Supreme Court is set to hear petitions alleging police brutality during the protests.
Although the foreign funding claims have sparked political controversy, the Government has not officially substantiated the allegations. With the MEA maintaining that it has no information to share, the issue remains unresolved even as the protest movement continues.
