New Delhi: Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader Murli Manohar Joshi has sparked a fresh political debate after raising concerns over governance, accountability and the importance of maintaining public trust in democratic institutions. In an interview with a national daily, the former Union minister spoke about several contemporary issues, including the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, allegations linked to the Ram temple trust, and environmental concerns around religious and heritage locations.

He argued that tourism can generate economic benefits but stressed that environmental and spiritual values should not be compromised.
