How to Make Fruit Custard
Ingredients:
Milk - 1 liter (full cream)
Sugar or sugar candy powder - 1/2 cup (to taste)
Saffron - a few strands
Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Fruits - of your choice (e.g., apples, bananas, grapes, pomegranates, papayas, sapotas).
Be careful not to use citrus fruits like oranges or seasonal fruits, as they can curdle the milk.
Dry fruits - almonds, cashews, raisins
Method:
First, pour the milk into a pan or wok and heat it over medium heat. Once the milk comes to a boil, reduce the heat.
Now, add the sugar or sugar candy powder to the boiling milk and stir well until it dissolves completely.
If you're not using custard powder during the fast, cook the milk on low heat until it thickens and reduces to about half its volume. If you like, you can also add roasted makhana, almonds, cashews, and ground dates to thicken the milk.
When the custard thickens, turn off the heat. Let it cool slightly and then refrigerate it for at least 2-3 hours to chill thoroughly.
When the custard has cooled completely, add chopped fruits and dried fruits and mix well.
Transfer the chilled fruit custard into a bowl and garnish with more chopped fruits or dried fruits before serving.
