New Delhi: A man has been arrested from the Navy headquarters in the national capital on charges of espionage. Identified as Vishal Yadav, he is accused of spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency over several years, including during Operation Sindhur.
According to reports, he passed on sensitive information related to the Navy and other defense units to a woman—believed to be his Pakistani handler—in exchange for money.
According to Dynamite News correspondent Vishal Yadav, a resident of Haryana was working as an Upper Division Clerk in the naval wing in Delhi. He was arrested by the intelligence wing of the Rajasthan Police, and his mobile phone, laptop, and other electronic devices have been seized for further investigation.
Initial findings suggest that he was receiving payments via cryptocurrency and through direct bank transfers. His handler, who went by the alias Priya Sharma, is suspected of luring him through a honey trap.
Authorities believe he may have been motivated by financial losses from online gaming and the monetary incentives offered in return for confidential information. The arrest came after he was placed under surveillance during Operation Sindhur, a time when intelligence agencies were on high alert.
Vishal Yadav is currently being questioned at the Central Interrogation Center in Jaipur. Multiple intelligence agencies are now investigating the extent of the information he leaked and whether others were involved in the espionage network.
Security agencies have urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity, especially online, as part of efforts to prevent similar security breaches.
